Homburg-based Barczycki und Bernardi GmbH is one of Germany’s most eminent quality-oriented companies in maintenance of industrial machines. Among their customers are Boysen and Eberspächer, big names in high-precision machines for the automobile industry. Predictive maintenance is therefore one of Barczycki und Bernardi GmbH’s highest priorities.
There was a milling machine equipped with three metallic conduits. They had grown old with age and use, and showed clear signs of wear.
CEO Klaus Bernardi says: “It’s crucial to check a machine carefully, if you want to maintain it properly. Conduits had been chosen because they were fully enclosed and relatively flexible. But they were not enough for that machine. That’s why we opted for a Brevetti Stendalto steel cable chain with metallic covers. It made our maintenance job a lot easier, and covers would protect cables from hot chips pouring down from the machine. Also, we were able to replace three conduits with just one chain, and find orderly place for all cables inside of it. Moreover, individual covers can be removed for inspection, if need be. Thanks to the Brevetti chain, we saved money on the cable protection system as well as on maintenance time, and eliminated the risk of coming across unpleasant surprises during installation. And the chain is so strong you can even walk on it (but you shouldn’t!) which is always a good advantage.”
Brevetti Stendalto’s technical department provided advice on the selection of the most suitable chain for that application. After just two weeks from the selection, the chain had already been delivered from Brevetti’s headquarters in Monza (Italy), and installed. Several more machines are ready to get equipped with Brevetti chains.
